Leafage ships as a macOS desktop app. Most download and update issues are caused by Gatekeeper prompts, an old app bundle, or a network problem during update download.
Download the current macOS build
Use the download button on the Leafage homepage, or download the universal macOS build directly:
https://downloads.leafage.app/desktop/latest/leafage-macos-universal.dmg
Open the .dmg, then drag Leafage into Applications.
If macOS blocks the first launch
The first launch can show a warning because the app was downloaded from the internet.
Try this:
- Open Applications.
- Control-click Leafage.
- Choose Open.
- Confirm the launch.
If macOS does not show an Open button:
- Open System Settings -> Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to the Security section.
- Click Open Anyway next to the Leafage message.
You should only need to do this once for a newly installed app.
Check for updates
Leafage checks for updates automatically in production builds. You can also check manually:
- Open Projects.
- Click Settings.
- In General, find App updates.
- Click the update button.
If an update is available, Leafage downloads it and relaunches when installation finishes.
Manual update
If the built-in updater fails:
- Quit Leafage with Command + Q.
- Download the latest
.dmg. - Open it.
- Drag Leafage into Applications.
- Replace the existing app.
- Open Leafage again.
Your projects and license are stored outside the app bundle, so replacing the app should not remove your work.
If the updater keeps failing
Try:
- Confirm your internet connection is stable.
- Make sure you are running Leafage from Applications, not from the
.dmg. - Quit and reopen Leafage.
- Manually download the current build.
Contact support if the same update fails repeatedly.
