Imported image nodes let you use existing images as references in your Leafage project.
Supported formats
Leafage supports common web image formats:
.png.jpg.jpeg.webp
Drag an image onto the canvas
The fastest way to import is drag and drop:
- Open a project.
- Drag an image file from Finder onto the canvas.
- Drop it where you want the node to appear.
Leafage copies the image into the project and creates an image node. The original file stays where it was.
Import from the add menu
You can also import from the canvas creation menu.
- Click the round + button or right-click the canvas.
- Choose Import.
- Pick an image file.
The imported node appears at the chosen canvas position.
Paste an image
If an image is on your clipboard, paste it while the canvas is focused. You can also right-click the canvas and choose Paste when that action is available.
Leafage imports the clipboard image as a local image node named Pasted image.
Use an imported image as context
Connect the imported image node to a new image or text node, then write the prompt for what you want Leafage to do with it.
Example:
Use this chair shape as the product reference. Create a brighter catalog image on a pale stone floor with soft studio shadows.
Imported images are local copies
When you import a file, Leafage stores a copy inside the project. That means:
- The project keeps working if the original file moves.
- Backups include imported project assets.
- Deleting the original Finder file does not remove the imported node.
Do not move the copied asset files out of the project folder by hand.
If a drop does nothing
Check these first:
- Make sure the file is one of the supported formats.
- Drop the file onto the canvas, not onto another app window.
- Confirm your trial or license allows editing.
- If the project folder is unavailable, choose the folder again before importing.
